The NightViews (Eugene, OR) play a soulful mix of original songs and covers that span generations and genres. NightViews have been playing music together since 2011, starting with cover band Soul Restoration Project. The band developed into creating original tunes influenced by everything from the Americana renaissance to Stax Records to the NYC anti-folk movement.
The NightViews aim to cook up danceable, contemporary tunes with their distinctly Pacific Northwestern style.
Singer, joy-enabler, do-er. For some reason, these guys have let her be loud in front of a mic with them since 2011.
Musical Inspirations:
Ol' analog soul in a digital world.
Always live. Always searching.
At the keys since he could sit on the bench, Josh grew up surrounded by instruments, mentors, and every genre within reach. That mix shaped a deep appreciation for sound — and a restless curiosity for what’s next.
The freedom of improvisation kept him hooked, and a college stint in a classic rock band introduced him to his lifelong companions: the Rhodes, Clavinet, Wurlitzer, and the Hammond B3.
After time in Boston and Vermont, he landed in Eugene, Oregon, where collaborations with local musicians, including guitarist Ed Parker (parkergalactic.com), led to joining Soul Restoration Project — a band rooted in groove, soul, and spontaneous energy.
Josh's sound draws from soulful greats such as Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston, Herbie Hancock, and Lyle Mays. He’s continually inspired by a newer generation of players — Neal Evans (Soulive), Cory Henry, Larry Goldings, Jon Cleary, Bob Birch (New Mastersounds), Nate "Count" Basinger (Diplomats of Sound), and the ever-harmonious Jacob Collier — artists who keep pushing the boundaries of what keys can say.
Conant has been performing in the Eugene and Portland music scenes since the 90's. He has a strong intuition for improvisation and is into a variety of musical styles.
Jon has been a part of the Eugene music scene since the early 90's, playing bass in multiple local groups and singing on stages all around town. Having grown up at the Oregon Country Fair and backstage at Grateful Dead concerts, his stage presence combines the frenetic energy of Pete Townsend with the non stop energy of a vaudevillian.
Jon has been playing with this group of musicians since 2012 when he joined the Soul Restoration Project as a guitar player, then transitioning to a vocalist, followed by picking up the bass again.
He draws his musical inspiration from a wide variety of styles, from Radiohead to James Brown to The Gorillaz and back to the early roots of Motown.
Guitarist and sound engineer based in the Eugene–Springfield area, Christopher Lewis brings both precision and feel to every performance. A graduate of Lane Community College’s Jazz Studies program, he blends technical skill with an ear for live dynamics shaped by years mixing for premier Northwest acts through George Relles Sound — the region’s go-to production company for events like the Britt Festival.
When he’s not on stage, Christopher engineers for Oregon Contemporary Theatre and regional productions with IATSE Local 675, where his command of tone and texture extends from the console to the fretboard.
